👋 Hi! Tell us about yourself and your training

My name is Pamela Jean Noble. I grew up in Fontana, CA, USA. My husband and I own a home in Southern California now and are expecting our first child. I am 21 weeks pregnant. I started out acting and now do modeling.

I started getting really into fitness in 2013/2014. I had always been in ok shape for modeling but wanted to kick it up a notch and started with doing insanity.

I competed for a couple of years but decided life needed to have more balance. Now I am happy with my body, my life balance, and my health.

⏱ Describe a typical day of training

Since I am pregnant right now, I take it easy and listen to my body. If that day is not a good day and I just need a nap, then I take a nap. If I am feeling up to it I do body weight exercises or light weights.

Mostly focusing on squats, calf raises, lunges, arm raises, and shoulder presses. I normally train alone and at home now.

👊 How do you keep going and push harder?

I try not to push too hard. Like I said, I lived that competition life and the balance was not there. I started to have a bad relationship with food and when it came time to eat every three hours I did not look forward to it because I hated my food.

Now I do not plan meals and if I have a craving we try to give into it in the healthiest way we know how to make. I also stopped eating meat and my energy levels became better, I was not getting sick as often, and my weight has been easier to maintain.

🏆 How are you doing today and what does the future look like?

My goals today are way different than if you would have asked me a year ago. Now I just want to have a healthy baby and have a healthy post body image. I don’t want to put all this pressure and a time limit on loosing any weight. I want to focus on my family and my child and if I can find time to workout I will.

There is too much pressure on women now a days in everyday life, pregnancy, and after pregnancy. Many women get body shamed during pregnancy for gaining too much weight. I have already felt the opposite and received messages that I am not gaining enough weight when I eat five to six meals a day.

I just want to not put pressure on myself and focus on health and family. My fitness means nothing to me if I am not healthy in general.

🤕 How do you recover, rest and handle injuries?

I have no problem saying “no” if it means I will be better off.

I haven’t had any major injuries from working out. I try to listen to my body. If something doesn’t feel right or body feels tired, I listen to it.

I try to sleep eight to nine hours a day but sometimes I get uncomfortable throughout the night and that doesn’t happen anymore. I am a huge sleeper even before I was pregnant and always try to listen to my body. When I used to push myself with too many projects before or too hectic of a schedule I would always get sick.

Now, I have no problem saying “no” if it means I will be better off. I am not a fan of the trying to fit an hour in if it means low sleep because sleep is just as important as working out. I also am a huge fan of seeing a chiropractor (I see Jeffrey Trigo in Huntington Beach) and massages.

As for handling travels, I have had to learn to roll with the punches. Things happen you can’t change. But if I have to be up early, I try to go to bed early and if I have to be up late, I try to sleep in. I will try to get some light movements in if I am traveling, but I am pregnant so I try to not push my body too hard.

🍎 How is your diet and what supplements do you use?

So I am plant-based. I have been this way for almost a year and a half now and I love it. It can be difficult when traveling sometimes and finding options in certain regions but so many places are adapting their menus now with these options.

I do not track calories or macros I just listen to my body. I have managed my weight so much more since starting this and I think a lot of that has to do with not stressing out about what/when I am eating.

We use Hungryroot as one of our options to have clean, easy food delivered. We shop a lot at Sprouts as well. I used to have black coffee every morning but now haven’t had it since I found out I was pregnant.

Before pregnancy, if I drink my two options would normally be tequila or champagne because they were low on calories but more importantly I enjoyed them.

If I’m having sweet cravings I have low calorie popsicles from Sprouts, “chocolate chip cookies dough” from Hungryroot, or rice cakes with almond butter.

I don’t follow a meal plan so there is no reason for me to have a cheat day. If I want something I eat it in moderation.

The only situations I have run into now based on that I don’t follow a meal plan is if there are vegan or vegetarian options at an event. Which at that point we will normally leave early because I can get hungry.

👍 What has inspired and motivated you?

Health is more important than anything.

I think in the past two years what inspired me is you can be in the best shape of your life but it doesn’t mean you are healthy. I want to live to see my grand kids grow up. So to me health is more important than anything.

We turned to plant based (not only because of how so many animals are treated so cruel in the meat trade) but also because of so many documentaries we have watched on issues with our food, impacts on the environment, and corruption in the food industry.

I know I’m not going to change everyone’s mind but if you watch some of the documentaries out there and see some of the behind-the-scenes of what you put in your body, I would hope it would make you think twice.

The best advice someone told me is to listen to my body. There are some people that are so strict and want to push themselves as hard as possible but I find much more happiness in my own journey I have taken the past two years.

✏️ Advice for other people who want to improve themselves?

I think the best thing is feel free to take advice however you need to do what is best for you. I listened to other people for almost two years and ended up with a horrible relationship with food and not able to maintain my shape.

It took a while but I found a great balance and what makes me happy, which isn’t that the point of life, anyways?

🤝 Are you taking on clients right now?

I do not train people. However, I think the biggest question now I get from other people is if I am still healthy from taking on a plant-based lifestyle or if I crave meat. Honestly, I have never felt better.

Also, in today’s market, there are more plant-based meat substitutions and vegan options than ever. I know if my husband likes it and feels better as do I we are doing something right and that is all that matters.
