👋 Hi! Tell us about yourself and your training

Hi, My name is Chatchaya Suthisuwan, but most people call me by my nickname Fah. Sometimes my fans and followers even address me by my social platform name which is Fahfah, which in a way is kinda cute., haha!

Anyway I’m from Bangkok, Thailand and I’m turning 30 this year! I’m currently a full time model / content creator.

I started my fitness journey probably about the same time I started my YouTube channel which is about a year plus.

The reason I started was because my manager had asked me to join him at the gym one day which honestly, I didn’t enjoy at first! But how he actually converted my perception on fitness was during dinner after the gym session.

I asked him the question like how could he possibly enjoyed it and when he told me the reason, that just got me thinking.

He said, to him, working out was very much like what we go through in life. He used the concept of working out to embrace failure, change, self motivation and pushing through tough times.

That got me started and I found out that actually working out cultivates a discipline and it’s actually very relatable towards personal life challenges.

Besides working out at the gym, I do play badminton once in awhile as it is really a very popular sport over here in Thailand.

⏱ Describe a typical day of training

I used to head to the gym really often

So I wouldn’t consider myself a professional or someone really experienced at the gym.

I used to head to the gym really often, however, now that I’m really busy with work, always on the move and with the opening of my own small humble production house, time has been a factor.

On a minimum, I’ll try to hit the gym or do cardio at least 3 times a week. Sometimes it may be a full gym week, sometimes a mix of both. If I don’t have the time to head to the gym, I’ll probably just head out for a run.

In terms of cardio, it can range from just simple short runs, badminton or even cycling. I just try to make sure that I get my body moving.

In terms of a specific program, I don’t really have one. I did do strength training at the beginning which was called “Stronglifts 5×5”, that really challenged me. But nowadays, I’ll just make sure to split it into Upper/Lower/Cardio.

👊 How do you keep going and push harder?

So I think how I started plays a heavy influence on how I manage to push myself even harder. As I’ve mentioned earlier, instead of just looking at working out as it is, I try to relate it to personal life challenges.

For instance, If you feel lazy or unmotivated to head to the gym, think about it, fight that negativity, force yourself to go.

It’s like how life is, sometimes we procrastinate and tend to not do certain things just because we are feeling lazy on that particular day and it ends up us not doing it at all, ever!

Another example is, when you fail on a rep or weight range, you get some rest and come back the next day and challenge yourself again or train up to hit that weight.

Doesn’t it sound similar to life itself? So that’s how I motivate myself. I relate it base on everyday life!

🏆 How are you doing today and what does the future look like?

At the moment, things are looking up but again, time is a factor for me. I’m trying to keep a balance in life with work, family and personal time.

Cliche as it sounds, I do have a bucket list so I’m trying hard to complete it, haha! To share a few items on my bucket list, it would be getting a place of my own as I am currently renting one. A few more others would be to try skydiving, learn diving, travel and trying to travel and clear each continent.

In terms of fitness, there’s a lot of sports which I would like to take up, Muay Thai to begin with since it’s like the national sport here and bouldering because it just looks really fun!

🤕 How do you recover, rest and handle injuries?

So in terms of recovery, I just make sure to get lots of rest whenever I can. A necessary amount of hours would be at least 7-8. It sounds really minimal but I hardly even get a constant range of 5-6 hours each day.

Every morning when I get up, I’ll make sure to do 2 things. A short 5min stretching session which I feel also helps my body get through the day and sit at my balcony to do a 5min bathing meditation which helps clear the mind.

In terms of injuries, thankfully I haven’t had any, fingers crossed!

🍎 How is your diet and what supplements do you use?

A happy belly builds a healthy mind too right!

I don’t have a particular diet to be honest as I actually have a food segment on my channel and I am a huge fan of food! But off camera, I do try to go a little healthier though.

I’ve never done things like counting calories and macros. In my opinion, just like life itself, finding that perfect balance is key. A happy belly builds a healthy mind too right!

I think for me what works is, every morning, I’ll have my usual Vitamins, Vitamin C, Fish Oil, Royal Jelly and a teaspoon of Manuka honey.

And the most important of all is, I try to drink at least 500ml of water every morning upon waking up.

👍 What has inspired and motivated you?

The thing that keeps ringing in my head each and every time I feel down, unmotivated or whenever I failed at something is “Change doesn’t come from Comfort”.

This hits me really hard and I think that it relatable to anything, anyone.

✏️ Advice for other people who want to improve themselves?

I’m still learning to improve myself each and everyday too. If I were to give someone a piece of advice, this would be it which I myself use it too.

Break it down, count everyday as a new start, so if you fail today, there’s always tomorrow, try it again but do your very best as time is limited so stop wasting precious time.

🤝 Are you taking on clients right now?

I don’t think I qualify as a personal trainer, haha! But if you need a training buddy, I can be one!
