👋 Hi! Tell us about yourself and your training

Hello, my name is Jimmy Gomes. I am 27 years old and have been training for eight years!

Originated in New jersey as a fat little boy and moved to Florida. I quickly realized in order to be accepted by my peers I had to have a strong external.

Started running cross country in high school and wrestled. The past lead me to getting a degree from University of Central Florida to to obtain my BS in exercise science.

My typically style of training is Olympic movement and accessory functional exercises, I typically like to mix it up with different sports such as jui jitsu, dancing, boxing etc.

Every movement to express the body is important.

When not training I typically like to recharge by going outdoor or meditating to realign myself.

⏱ Describe a typical day of training

Lastly finish up with core work in the sauna!

Wake up fasted with water and coffee in the morning leading to exercise in the morning or evening.

Typically start with warm up, mobility drills and then going on to my heavy lift first following it up with accessory work.

Lastly finish up with core work in the sauna!

Majority of my program is olympic lifting strength for 4 days. The other days I spend moving the body in a state of flow.

👊 How do you keep going and push harder?

Burning out comes and goes.

When times get hard I look inward for some motivation and discipline to pull me towards my goals!

My goals are to manifest all the opportunities to serve the people that are attracted to my energy. Through the best service in the present moment all my external goals shall manifest in its self.

Majority of the time when I feel myself burning out I try to rest for a day and foam roll allowing my body to be ready for the next workout!

Burning out comes and goes. I can’t put a time on it, all I can say is listen to your body, be present.

🏆 How are you doing today and what does the future look like?

Today I am enlightened, taking care of my clients and putting energy into them inside and out of the gym.

The future for my personal training/apparel business is looking amazing by showing people that internal change is the key to external change!

🤕 How do you recover, rest and handle injuries?

I always warm up properly and do mobility drills so that my joint and body are ready for the workout ahead.

If injury happens we dial back and train bodyweight exercises and increasing rest time.

The Biggest key is LISTEN to your body, knows your activity level through out the day.

The more you start to get intune with your body the better you can arrange your exercise/movements patterns. There is always a way to exercise with a set back.

Supplements are sre s multi vitamin in the morning for energy and focus. Zinc Magnesium at night before bed time for increase energy.

🍎 How is your diet and what supplements do you use?

I don’t really count calories

Nutrition includes fasting 5 days a week for 16 hours a day.

I don’t really count calories, I just watch the quality of food I am consuming and if I feel a certain way I learn to be more active in order to burn calories.

Typical foods include lean meat, complex carbs (brown rice, sweet potatoes) and healthy fats, (oils, avocado etc.).

Water is also key to surpressing your hunger so you don’t eat a bunch of empty calories or snacks! If calories are needed to gain weight than supplements are used such as whey protein.

👍 What has inspired and motivated you?

Fitness enthusiasts but more or so spiritual enlightenment books such Think and Grow Rich, No Excuses And 7 Spiritual Laws.

They typically help with my mindset in the workouts or in life! Times where you are unmotivated you need to bring that energy from somewhere so might as well be from yourself!

David Goggins, CT Fletcher, Conor McGregor. All these idols have inspired me in a certain piece of myself I needed to get in touch with.

✏️ Advice for other people who want to improve themselves?

A nice body is short term

Start being more present in the moment figuring out what it is you want on this journey.

A nice body is short term, a healthy spirit and a temple to follow it is the long term vision for yourself but it comes from within.

Start with walking each day and slowly start introducing yourself to weights!

🤝 Are you taking on clients right now?

Yes I am always looking to improve clients wellbeing whether in person or online.

There is no excuses as to why someone can’t fulfill their healthy lifestyle goals!
